Barnsley sign Frimpong and Woods
Ghana international Frimpong, 22, who has not featured for the Gunners this season, had loan spells with Charlton and Fulham last term.
Woods, 28, was a free agent after his deal with Doncaster came to an end.
The midfield pair could make their debut for the Tykes against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Liverpool full-back Ryan McLaughlin has extended his loan at Oakwell until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old, who is currently out with a hamstring injury, has made one appearance so far for Danny Wilson's side.

Wolves striker Griffiths joins Celtic
The 23-year-old Scotland striker said: "The chance to come to Celtic is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and you've got to grab it with both hands.
"I've left a very good club down at Wolves, but I'm coming to the biggest club in Scotland.
"The gaffer knows what I can do. Hopefully I can add goals."
Griffiths has been capped four times by Scotland and scored 39 goals over the previous two seasons on loan at Hibernian.
“I'll still be a Hibee as long as I live, but to play for Celtic is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that you can't turn down”
Leigh Griffiths Celtic striker But he believes joining Neil Lennon's side is the chance "to win things, play in the Champions League, hopefully, and get better as a player"."I've only played a handful of games for Scotland and I don't think I've done myself justice so far," said Griffiths, acknowledging that some Celtic fans have questioned his credentials on social media site Twitter.
"But there is no bigger place to play than the Champions League and hopefully in six months' time I'll be doing that.
"It's up to me to show the fans what I can do. I've not got off to the best of starts with some Celtic fans, but hopefully I can win them over."
Griffiths signed a new deal at Molineux in the summer and has scored 13 goals in 32 appearances this term.
However, Wolves this week signed Leon Clarke from Coventry City, having already secured Nouha Dicko from Wigan Athletic to bolster their attacking options, and Griffiths was relieved to complete his own transfer.
"I'm delighted it's finally done," he said. "I think it was the middle of December that I first heard there was interest.
"The first time I spoke to Neil was this morning at the training ground. He was very easy to talk to.
"He told me what he wanted from me and I told him what I would bring to the team."
Edinburgh-born Griffiths' love of his own local club is well documented and he said: "If it wasn't Hibs I was to come to, it would only be Celtic.
"I'll still be a Hibee as long as I live and it will be good to go back there to play against them, but to play for Celtic is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that you can't turn down."
Before completing the deal for Griffiths, Celtic this week failed in a bid for a player currently plying his trade in Turkey, but the player and his current club could not reach the necessary agreement to allow the transfer to proceed.
Lennon told BBC Radio 5live: "Strikers are at a premium and in today's climate it is really difficult for us to compete with Premier League money.
"We tried to get a player in from Turkey. He had a

Palace's Ledley bid accepted
The Wales international's current contract runs out in the summer and he had been stalling on a new deal with the Scottish champions.
Hoops boss Neil Lennon was desperate to hang on to the fans' favourite but has reluctantly agreed to accept the reported £800,000 on offer rather than lose him for nothing at the end of the season.
Palace still have to wrap up the deal and Lennon admits they must move fast to secure Ledley.

Griffiths signs for Celtic
The former Hibernian striker travelled north this morning after Neil Lennon's third bid for the Scotland international was accepted by the League One club.
Griffiths agreed terms on a four-year contract and put pen to paper on the deal after passing his medical in Glasgow.
"I'm over the moon," Griffiths told the Celtic website. "It's been a long time coming. Ever since I heard Celtic were interested there was only one place I wanted to play and I'm just glad it's done now.
"It was the middle of December and my agent gave me a phone and said Celtic could be interested in January and I have just been counting down the days.
"Unfortunately, it's taken to the last day but I'm just glad that it's been done now and I can't wait to get started.
"We are the Scottish champions to begin with, and this is a massive club with a massive fanbase and a massive stadium. I have watched the Champions League nights on the TV and there is no better place to play. This is where I want to be.
"I was just really keen. I know what it takes to become a Celtic player. I had a great season last year at Hibs and then I have went down back the road and started scoring goals as well.
"I want to bring goals - that's what I am all about and what I love doing. I did it last season for Hibs and have done it for Wolves and now it's my time to shine in the Hoops and hopefully I can do it.
"I am just thankful to get my chance here and hopefully I can prove that I am a good signing and start scoring goals for fun."
Lennon is aware that the reaction from some Celtic supporters to the proposed signing was not all positive, but he said: "I think it has been somewhat over the top.
"He is a young man. He has had a few off the field issues, as we all do. Sometimes they get blown out of proportion.
"So I will manage him as best I can and he has to concentrate on his football and if he does I am sure he will be a very good acquisition for the club.
"I have always liked his attitude on the field and having spoken to a lot of people who have played with him and worked with him, managers, they have spoken very highly of him.
"He is an engaging personality, he is quite quiet. Like most people who come with reputations he is not what you would expect.
"He seems quite a focused kid, he knows what he wants and he is delighted to be here. So we are very pleased.
"We think he is value for money. He's a prolific scorer, knows the environment here and I think we can make him better."

Good loan signing for United
Good, 20, Australian-born but holding a British passport, will go straight into manager Jackie McNamara's squad for the Partick Thistle game on Saturday.
Good joined Newcastle in the summer of 2012 on a six-year deal from Melbourne Heart, before making his competitive debut for the Magpies in a League Cup match against Morecambe in August 2013.
He spent time on loan at Bradford City last season and has been capped by Australia at U20 and U23 levels.
Manager McNamara said: "Curtis comes to us highly recommended and from a well-respected club. He is left footed and can play as either a central defender or left-back.
"These are areas that require cover and it was important this was addressed during the window.
"He is six foot one and strong and should give a different option to the defenders already at the club. I am very happy to have this deal completed; it offers Curtis the opportunity to get some game time whilst enhancing our squad for the latter part of the season."

Rangers v Brechin preview
The Scotland U21 star has been struggling with a calf problem for the past few weeks and will not be risked as Rangers chase their seventh successive victory.
MacLeod picked up the injury, and a slight knee knock, earlier this month and was forced to sit out the games against Stenhousemuir and East Fife.
His absence is not seen as a major blow to boss Ally McCoist who is likely to stick to the team on duty for last week's thrilling 3-2 home victory over Arbroath as they go in search of their 22nd victory from 23 games.
Long-term injury victims Ross Perry (ankle), Chris Hegarty (broken leg) and Kyle Hutton (ankle) remain sidelined although the club's official website reports the trio are 'making good progress and could figure for the U20's next month'.
Skipper Lee McCulloch, who converted the late penalty which secured the points at Ibrox, and fellow-defender Bilel Mohsni, will be walking a disciplinary tightrope as they both sit one booking away from an automatic League One suspension.

May has also featured in Scotland's Under-20 and Under-21 teams, and could have a bright future in the international team.
St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright seems to have a tight grip on the Scottish striker, as he looks set to stay at McDiarmid Park in this transfer window.

McCoist backs five-year plan
Speaking to delegates from three Rangers supporters groups on Thursday, the club's chief executive Graham Wallace said there was no quick fix for the current Division Two champions.
Wallace revealed he intends to draw up a five-year plan for Rangers with the ultimate aim of giving their Glasgow rivals a run for their money in the race for the Premiership title, as well as targeting a place in Europe.
And McCoist, whose side boast a 23-point advantage at the top of the table and are cantering to their second successive league title, has thrown his weight behind Wallace's vision.
"I would have thought that was about fair, yeah. I would agree with Graham there," he said.
"He has been completely honest with everybody and if he said a five-year plan has been put in operation then I think we should respect that."
Asked if his side could repeat this year's title stroll in the Championship next season, McCoist said: "I don't have us down as any guarantees to be back in the Premiership next year, assuming we win promotion this year.
"Hearts are a good side and if we look at the top of the Championship now, there are Dundee, Falkirk and Hamilton doing very well.
"So if we are lucky enough to go up this year, there are absolutely no guarantees that we will do the same next season. We will just have to take it one step at a time."

Hearts v Inverness preview
The 33-year-old skipper has not played since December 21 after injuring a shoulder against Aberdeen.
Defender Josh Meekings is expected to be available after suffering a blow to his head in last weekend's league clash with Kilmarnock.
Caley manager John Hughes, looking ahead to the cup tie, said: "We are injury-free, suspension-free and Richie is back training so I am really looking forward to Sunday.
"Hand on heart, yes, I think it is too early, but it is Richie Foran we are talking about. He is a different animal from most."
As for Meekings, he added: "He has got a bit of a black eye, I think he has got nine stitches.
"I think he got his stitches out on Friday so he will play on Sunday, unless the hospital says 'no'."
New signing Paul McCallum, meanwhile, could make his Hearts debut in the midday kick-off.
The young striker joined on loan from West Ham on Thursday and will give the beleaguered club some extra options in attack.
Midfielder Ryan Stevenson is back following a two-game ban while the only new injury worry concerns goalkeeper Jack Hamilton who has suffered a minor knock.
Jason Holt and Jamie Walker remain long-term casualties.
